8 Of The Best Secrets To Get More Comments On Instagram Pictures

8 Of The Best Secrets To Get More Comments On Instagram Pictures

1. Make Appropriate Use of Hashtags.

Hashtags are one of the most easily overlooked aspects of an Instagram post, and simultaneously one of the most important. They’re required for gaining further exposure and expansion on the site. They’re how you break into new communities, gain the attention of new users, and build up a reputation for excellent content. Plus, unlike other sites that use hashtags, Instagram allows as many of them as you want, within reason. I’ve seen advice ranging from 5 to 20 being the ideal number to use, so staying between 5 and 10 is probably a good idea.

There are, in general, two types of hashtags. One is branded tags, which are your brand name, product name, and personally relevant tags. It’s usually a good idea to include one of these, but they aren’t the main focus of this post. The other type of tags are the generic tags, like #love #nofilter #happy. These can range a wide variety of topics and audiences.

In general, you’re going to look for generic tags that are relatively narrow. Something like #cute has 11.7 million posts in it, which means there’s a huge audience, yes, but also a huge crush of people using it. The people using it will also have a wide variety of definitions of the word cute and will use it in different ways. Instead, you’ll want to use something narrowed like #cuteness (257,000 posts) or #cutedog (180,000 posts) to reach more targeted audiences. Yes, they’re smaller, but you’re going to have a higher exposure rate and a higher engagement rate from these narrow audiences.

Nothing stops you from using the basic #cute tag as well, though. Might as well cover all of your bases, right? You can use up to 30 tags total, which is a hard limit on Instagram, but you won’t need that many. After 15 or so it starts to get redundant or spammy.

2. Schedule Instagram Posts for When Your Audience Is Most Active.

One of the best ways to generate a ton of engagement is to schedule your Instagram posts for when your audience is most active on Instagram. The reason for this is that the Instagram algorithm gives priority to posts with higher engagement, meaning that the more likes and comments your post receives, the more people will see your post.

If you post when your audience is most active on Instagram, you’re more likely to drive engagement on that post. That engagement will translate into Instagram bumping your post higher up on users’ feeds, which, in turn, will result in even more engagement on your post. It’s a cyclical process: higher engagement leads to more visibility, which leads to higher engagement, which leads to more visibility… and it all starts with when you post on Instagram.

3. Questions in Your Caption.

Questions can help you get more “engagement” (if your goal is to grow your Instagram page). Don’t go crazy asking questions all the time. Again, keep it natural.

Questions should be:

  • Simple and
  • International

Everyone should be able to read, understand and answer your question.

Tip: Write your question at the beginning of your caption so that people see it straight away when they see your post.

Examples:

  • @hellomissmay: “Left or right?”
  • @theskinnyconfidential: “What is your workout staple?”

4. Make Your Post too Cute.

This is a program of user-generated content (UGC).  It works at getting comments because it engages the cuteness overload reflex, which is to gush about how stinkin’ cute something it (AKA comment).

A lot of the comments are people sharing the post with friends by @mentioning them.  Many of these are likely friends with young children who might become customers for Buzz Bear Studio, who sell these onesies.

5. Respond to Comments.

As previously mentioned, when people leave a comment, it takes a bit of effort. They need to think and come up with a good answer and then spend a little time typing it.

So, you should appreciate their effort by responding positively. Thank them for their comment and provide answers if they too ask questions. If you respond to comments, it will encourage them to leave more in the future. This will only strengthen your relationship with your followers. If you don’t have the time to respond to all of them. Respond to a few at least.

6. Post videos.

Time spent viewing videos on Instagram increased by 40% in 2016, and now, users can post videos up to one minute in length. Post this engaging content to get followers to stop scrolling through their busy Instagram feeds and watch your video – and make sure it’s intriguing. Your audience wants more video content – especially on social media – so if you share something compelling and ask viewers to comment on it in the caption, they’ll most likely do it.

Create short videos for Instagram that tease longer videos on other platforms – like Facebook or YouTube – or post the longer video (up to 60 seconds).

7. Buy Some Instagram Comments.

why do people Buy Instagram Comments?

It takes more time and energy to leave a comment than it does to hit a like button. Your reader has to first think about your comment and then formulate and type out a response.

It doesn’t sound like much, but when you’re reading hundreds of posts every day, leaving comments for everyone can become very time-consuming.

People only tend to put in the effort to leave a comment when they are extremely engaged with your content. This means that it’s much harder to get Instagram comments than it is to get likes for example.

Because of the extra effort they take, comments are also more highly valued by Instagram’s algorithm. This makes them a lot more desirable for businesses and influencers, who often choose to buy comments to boost their Instagram visibility.

The more bought comments you have, the more organic comments you are likely to receive, which is another reason that people might choose to purchase Instagram comments.

Buying Instagram comments can also save you the time and effort of creating the type of content that makes people want to engage to the point that they are compelled to leave a comment.

Having said that though, even if you are buying some of your Instagram comments, you shouldn’t rely on them solely. Aim to put out engaging content when you can to attract more followers and grow your account.

8. Post Consistently.

If there is only ONE tip you need to remember, it’s this one: Post consistently. There are 3 reasons why posting consistently is important:

  • Instagram rewards people who use their app consistently (makes sense, right?)
  • People will remember you if they see you all the time in their home feed and Insta Stories
  • If you’re not consistent Instagram will not show your new posts that often in your followers’ home feed

How to post consistently? Plan your posts in advance. Again, you can use the Preview app to schedule your posts. You can plan your posts a few days in advance, or a week in advance, or a whole month if you want to. Consistency is key to Instagram.
