8 Actionable Ideas To Get More Likes on Facebook Posts[Infographic]

1. Ask Yes or No Questions.

Everyone loves to share their opinion and can spare a few seconds to answer a Yes or No question. Here are some questions to try:

Yes, or No, are you looking forward to the weekend?
Yes, or No, are you having a good day?
Yes, or No, are you following the Presidential race/playoffs/other current events?
Yes, or No, do you like your job?
Yes, or No, are we sharing the right kind of content with you?
Yes, or No, have you ever been to (somewhere)?
Yes, or No, have you been to our store/website?
Yes, or No, do you have your own website?

2. Invite People to Like Your Page.

The easiest way to increase Facebook followers is by inviting people to like your page. Once you start creating ads for your store, Facebook will occasionally send you notifications asking you to invite people to like your page. I found that typically if I ran engagement ads, I’d get a higher number of people that I could invite to like the page. However, even though I manually invited people, I eventually got temporarily blocked by Facebook. So you need to pace the number of people you invite at a time. Also, if you do get temporarily blocked, Facebook might still send notifications telling you to invite people. But you still won’t be able to invite anyone. Wait a day or two before trying to invite more people. You can also invite friends and family to like your page. However, keep in mind that it’s better to have a small, targeted audience than to have a big, broad one, as it could limit the effectiveness of your future ads.

3. Posting On Facebook At The Right Time.

This rule might seem simple, but many companies have fallen by not paying attention to timing or in some cases just general topics. The world is ever changing and what is funny today might not be so funny tomorrow because of something that happened recently.

A couple of examples of this were in the movie ‘Big Trouble’ where the movie ended with a man sneaking a nuclear bomb onto a plane and it blowing up (no one was hurt), which was inconvenient when the release date for this movie was September 21, 2001. This is an example of bad timing. The good timing ones you never hear about, of course, but they happen every day. If a movie is set to come out that is very anticipated like ‘Star Wars’ then you should release a product that is set to a ‘Star Wars’ theme to pique your customer’s interest. You just need to stick with the trends and engage your viewers to get more comments and likes on Facebook.

4. Run Facebook Ads.

One of the best ways to connect with new members of your target audience is to run Facebook Ads. Facebook Ads has one of the best targeting systems available, making the platform an incredible discovery tool.

You can run campaigns targeting entirely new and cold traffic, or target users who have visited your site but are not yet connected to you on Facebook. Facebook Ads has objectives for everything from reach and brand awareness to online sales and event registration; all can help you connect with new users and get more likes on your Page.

5. Share Your Facebook Posts Via Your Personal Profile.

The number of people who will see a post from your personal profile is much higher than the number that is shown posts from your Facebook Page.

Take advantage of this by sharing your Page posts via your personal profile.

6. Use hashtags.

Hashtags are a great way to get your business posts found by people who are interested in the topic you’re posting about. Users looking to streamline information about a particular topic or event search for hashtags on Facebook and other social media sites. Facebook curates a list of trending hashtags that are getting a lot of attention.

Confused about hashtags? Good posts to use hashtags are:

  • Restaurants: Post menu or drinks for a special event like #KyDerby
  • Retail Stores: Post pictures of baseball merchandise for #OpeningDay
  • Catering Companies: Thank the company who hired you for their event (tag the company!) then use the event hashtag.

7. Visualize Quotes, Motivations.

People don’t read text on its own, they see the picture and decide within ⅕ of a second to read or not to read the text it has. Use this information to your advantage and offer them visual posts to motivate and inspire with great sayings and quotes. Why are these types of quotes are so popular? We all are fighting with inner questions all day long and when we find something that speaks to us and our situation, our finger instinctively taps the “like” button. All we need is motivation,  and when we see the inspirational words said by a celebrity, a great mind or whoever else we want to act now – lose weight, make this Monday productive, start a new life, and eat 5 veggies a day!

8. Work on Your Posts.

Make your posts insanely interesting but keep it relevant. Further, analyzing your audience with tools like Facebook insights will help you to get a brief idea about content liked by your audience. Hence, identify those content with maximum reach and repeat such posts more often. Moreover, do not be sporadic in posting contents as it gives a wrong impression of you being too casual with your Facebook business page. Also, ensure that ‘like’ and ‘share’ buttons are included in every post. Offering valuable content to your prospects will trigger discussion and eventually gather more likes and shares.
